I have a VM that was created from unraid. I had a cache drive failing so all my vm settings were gone but the vmdk file is still intact in my harddisk. Now im trying to add my VM back but its unable to start. My Windows one works fine but my linux one doesnt seem to be starting. Any advice on what i can do?

vmdk? Check your xml to see if it uses the right vdisk format. Unraid will only use RAW or QCOW2 by default so other format e.g. vmdk needs to change the tag.

no its not a vmdk. its a .img file. It was previously created with unraid.

You mentioned "vmdk" in the original post so that was the misleading part.

 

There's nothing looking wrong with you xml. What do you mean by "not starting"?
