How do you format drives?

Simple question i moved over HDD's that had windows installed on them how do you format them within unraid? I have not started a Array yet.

    I've generally liked the idea of running preclear on a disk at least 1 cycle (5 steps) so that the system understands what the condition of the disk is and has a benchmark. 

     

    Once you've done that (or decided against), you would assign them under "main.". Just to confirm, there's no data on them, right?
