Hi i hope someone here can help me out. i'm trying to use Unassigned devices to move data from an old unraid server that suffered a motherboard failure to a brand new server. i've gotten the drive to mount and share and I can see the top level of directory. but when I try to go into what would have been a share on the old unraid disk i get a permissions error. i've included a screen shot of the error i'm getting i'm getting

unraid error.png

How are the "SMB Security" settings set in the Settings->Unassigned Devices?

reiserfs it's a disk out of my old unraid server that died. all the folders have the same issue. I can browse the folders and download file just fine through the web console it's just when I try to access them through the SMB share that I have issues

The problem is that the folders don't have the proper permissions for Public access.  You need to get to a command line and execute:

chmod -R 777 /mnt/disks/samsung_...

This should fix the permissions issue.

I've used this plugin for a few years now with great success but I would like a little help on this issue.

I have a ReadyNas sharing about 17TBs of Data and I'll like to share the media with my Dockers.

I am able to load and mount the share via CIFS and NFS but I have run into anomalies.

1. The Size is show as 0 or incorrect Size (Not that important to me)

2.  I can't see any contents of the share when browsing via docker or unraid share browser.  Its just show nothing.

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks again for the great plugin.

I can see that it will not show up under the unRAID Share browser as that is specific to shares on the main array and is not aware of shares mounted from outside the unRAID server.

When trying via docker - where are you looking for the share to appear?   With a docker you are likely to be looking at the raw Linux level, not the network share level.   At the Linux level they will appear under /mnt/disks

It's not mounted.

@dlandon and @itimpi Thanks for the quick reply guys. I appreciate your time.

@dlandon I did notice it was not mounted but sometimes it showed me 8ish under the size.  Which striked me as odd.

@itimpi I hear what you're saying.  I did attempt to browse, unsuccessfully, from the Linux kernel side before associating the mount point with the Krusdar docker. I just didn't want to accept the truth... :(

Good News.. I just got it to mount!!!

I bounced between the CIFS and NFS share for a while like a crazy person. "The definition of insanity"

Then I had the great idea to leave the unmounted config and reboot. After reboot I saw the same thing but when I started the array the share mounted. YAY!

Now I wonder what protocol would be best, NFS or CIFS ?

You are saying that the size doesn't show properly at times?  I added a timeout to the command to get the nfs size.  If it is not showing correctly, I may have to increase the timeout.  This was added to prevent hangs when the remote share drops off-line.

As I was cycling through adding and removing the remote share at times it would show me a value under size.  It was always 8.? GBs.

During this period the share didn't actually mount. The used and free columns had no value.

I am seeing the following log messages.

Sep 17 11:47:43 DeadPool root: error: plugins/unassigned.devices/UnassignedDevices.php: wrong csrf_token
These occur about one per second.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Unassigned Devices.  Obviously the error goes away when the plugin is removed, but it returns when reinstalled.  UnRaid version is 6.3.5

Also note I see the same error for PreClear plugin as well.

Hi!

I cant see that my 2 SSD disc are mounted with  discard operation.

FYI: I did manually format the 2 disc as XFS from the command prompt.

Is there anything I have missed ?

It doesn't look like your disks support discard.

What does this command show?

cat /sys/block/sdn/queue/discard_max_bytes
cat /sys/block/sdo/queue/discard_max_bytes

0
root@Tower:~# cat /sys/block/sdo/queue/discard_max_bytes
0

So it looks like these SSD:s are not able to use TRIM on.
