Sever not grabbing an IP (SOLVED)

Featured Replies

As mentioned I can't get the server to grab an IP address from my router, this happened after changing PCIE (lane allocation) settings in my bios. After reboot the system refuses to grab an IP; and yes I've tried reverting the settings, as well as using the restore optimized defaults option in the BIOS. I then proceeded to try to delete the network.conf and network-rules.conf files, since this has worked in the past (unraid will usually generate a new one). Still no dice, it wouldn't even generate new files like it normally would. I would prefer to avoid using the GUI because the set root password is 30 something+ pseudo-random characters long since I log in through a browser and use a password manager. The login always times out before I can finish typing manually. But worst case If I need to use GUI mode If anyone can link how to reset the root password I'll just do that. If anyone can help me get this system talking to the router again I'd really appreciate it.

Edit:
Just went to check, there are 2 error codes displayed.
1st: error: failed to connect to the hyperviser
2nd: error: Failed to connect socket to '/var/run/libvert-sock' : No such file or directory

and to be a little more specific listed below the error codes is my OS version 6.8.3
Followed by:
IPv4 address: not set
IPv6 address: not set

Another update (Edit 2): Noticed some odd behavior. I dug up one of my backups of the network.cfg file and used it to restore the ones that weren't being generated, as well as check and verify the settings inside the file. Then after booting the server back up it it is displaying an IP not associated with my LAN (A 169.254.x.x address, My LAN is on a 192.168.x.x address range).

Was able to get it back online (finally) using the local account. The only issue I'm still having is I can't connect via web browser now. I will keep trying to figure it out

Okay I did manage to get it back up. The first time I set a default password so I could get on on the web browser it didn't update for some reason. The second time I tried it did we're all good now TY! :)
