Does anyone have any ideas? I don't mind whether its intel or amd.

    Maybe find a motherboard with M.2 2280 port that you like and try something like M.2 to 5xSATA adapter based on JMB585 controller. One of moderators here is using a card based on this controller, you could ask him if it's any good.
