Windows 10 VM with GPU passthrough keeps breaking resulting in Guest has Not Initialized display (yet)

Featured Replies

I have a NVIDIA gtx 2060, MSI b450 tomahawk, and AMD 2600x.

The VM works for a little bit but after a while it just shuts down and is not able to boot up again resulting in guest has not initialized display (yet).

I get this log

I tried rebooting the system and using vnc with no passthrough from anything and here is what the result was.

I'm still getting "Guest has not initialized display (yet)"

I made a different vm but used the vdisk1.img file from the broken vm and it worked so the vm itself breaks, not the data.

I solved this. The issue was I was spreading my vm over multiple cpu threads that weren't in the same core. So I would use thread 1 from core one and thread 1 from core 2. Ever since I grouped them properly my machine works like a charm.

Rookie Mistake.
