looking at the syslogs - yesterday both my parity drives started throwing write errors at around the same time. this to me says connection issue. All of my array drives are on the same LSI controller.

edit: since then i have run a check and nothing else. I've been using unraid for a bit now but am not comfortable in just banging away with disks throwing errors like this. Any and all help is much appreciated

On mobile so haven't looked at diagnostics yet. If you get your connection or other hardware issue resolved you have to rebuild those parity drives since they are out of sync now.

@trurl absolutely. forgot to list it because i was assuming a parity rebuild was pretty much guaranteed to be necessary at some point.
