Additional Hardware Server extension/expansion

Featured Replies

Hi,

I would like to know if following scenario is possible with unraid.

Common usage (I think):
Having 1st NAS server starting with few disks, step by step getting it full... then add disk until there is no physical possibility to add disk.
So far I know this is possible till 2 first disks have bigger size than latter added disks.

Hardware Extension:
Adding 2nd NAS server that "synchronise" (not sure what term to use) with 1st server with same concept (starting with few disk, adding step by step)

Then when 2nd NAS is almost full also... add 3rd, 4th, and so on... giving a theorical "unlimited size" file system.

With off course having file reseach on a single interface.

A kind of "distributed" NAS.

Is this existing in your system ?

If not, is any other software offering that concept ?

Thanks for help,

Stephane
