VoNpo Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) Hi, I just made my first VM and after some trial and error I managed to pass through my GTX 1660 Super to Manjaro Gnome VM. Everything seems to work but there is no audio trough usb dac. Dac is connected to host like keyboard and mouse and it identifies automatically in VM settings. It also shows in Manjaro settings with correct name but there is no sound, only some pops frequently. Any help? I would also appreciate if someone could check those XML settings if there is something obviously wrong! meep Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Passing through a USB DAC in that manner is very hit and miss. I have some HK Soundsticks and have the same problem. I suspect the audio bandwidth is too much for the system to keep up with. The solution is to pass through a USB controller, and plug the audio device into that. For all my VMs, I try to assign a dedicated controller and have zero problems with audio devices. Quote

HectorG Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 pretty good video here: I currently am having usb controller issues (its possible but bit tricky to isolate and pass through-needs some work) since I am new to unraid I may actually just get a usb 3.0 pciexpress card there cheap and since it's an separate device should be more headache free, I too have issues with my usb soundcard dac/amp sometimes does not get detected even despite being listed in device manager or no power. I recommend getting one with additional power to help drive powerful usb devices. Quote
