May 29, 20206 yr One of my disks is disabled, and unraid is not able to maintain parity. My VM´s and most of my dockers was shutdown, and I was not able to start them up. Why can my Unriad installation not survive the loss of one disk? diagnostics is attached. The disk entered disabled state, at 1.40 during night. I woke up this morning to a lot of errors on my parity disk. I stopped the array, but now 4 houers later, it is still in “array stopping - sync filesystem.." state The errors on my parity drive. CPU 4 – HT5 I constantly at 100% Log is full. After deleting syslog: nas01-diagnostics-20200529-1106.zip

Because besides the disable disk there were also read errors on all the other disks. Diags are missing the syslog, but errors suggest a controller problem, see if you can get the syslog, but in any case reboot and post new diags.

Aafter a hard reset, everything came back online again -except disk 3, this is still disabled. I´m running a "SMART extended self-test" tight now, but there does not seem to be anything wrong with disk 3. After the selv test, I think I will try to bring the disk online again. -if the test is successfull. nas01-diagnostics-20200529-1625.zip

That's expected, once a disk gets disable it needs to be rebuilt, disk should be fine but since you're running a SMART test wait for it to finish and then rebuild if OK. If it happens again make sure you try to get the syslog.
