Internal SDHC raid install Possible ?

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

i have only one question :

Can we use the internal motherboard SDHC reader card  to install unraid on it to avoid usb ?

I have an HP DL 380 G7 server, i don't know if integrate server reader on motherboard have  Gui compatibility compare to "external reader" ?

i know from the pricing page :

"Unraid OS is only supported to boot from USB flash-based storage devices. Other boot devices such as SD card readers, HDDs, or SSDs are not supported at this time."

light me !

regards

Very unlikely and even if it would work for licensing might be a source of problems. Best to use a USB2 port.

Ok thank you for your answer.

i guess, that should be better to use USB 2 key rather  than USB 3 key ?

Many people find booting from a USB2 port to be more reliable. USB3 speed isn't needed since the flash drive is mostly used for loading the OS into RAM at boot and it runs in RAM (think of it as firmware). Any configuration changes you make in the webUI are also recorded on flash so the can be reapplied at boot, but flash isn't used much and doesn't store much.
