June 1, 20206 yr Hi All, I am wondering if there is a way to resolve the issues I am getting on disk 1 and parity disk 2. I have attached both SMART reports. The issue started after we had a storm come through last week and it knocked out the power for a few hours. I should have had it on a UPS but I haven't ordered one yet. Any help would be appreciated here. June 2, 20206 yr Community Expert Complete diagnostics would be better, but errors on 2 disks at the same time are usually not a disk problem, though both disks show a high number of recovered sectors, run a long SMART test on both.
June 2, 20206 yr Author Sorry for my ignorance but when I try to run an extended test it says "Errors occurred - Check SMART report". Any ideas?
June 2, 20206 yr Community Expert I forgot to mention that for SAS devices you need to run the tests manually: smartctl -t long /dev/sdX
June 2, 20206 yr Author Once the extended smart test is ran do I just download the report like usual from the web interface or do I need to name and save it from the command window?
June 3, 20206 yr Author Attached are the reports from running the long smart test via command line. ST33000650SS_Z298AKAK0000C4033LU6_35000c500570c128f-20200603-0737.txt ST33000650SS_Z298AL5Y0000C4034ZHM_35000c500570bf22f-20200603-0737.txt
June 3, 20206 yr Author Is it likely there was writing to the disk that occurred when the power went out and that is what caused the errors?
