[SOLVED] Unable to format and mount cache

Featured Replies

I'm trying to add a new 250GB Samsung Evo 860 SSD as a cache. The steps I've taken:

  1. Stop the array
  2. Assign cache to SSD (sdb)
  3. Start array
  4. In the Main tab, see that the cache is in an unmountable state and proceed to format it using the Format button.
  5. UnRaid says it is formatting.
  6. Get the same message as in #4.

I've tried doing this after changing the SATA connector, power supply cord, and power supply. I've attached the diagnostics of my attempt in Safe Mode.

2 of the onboard SATA ports are set to IDE, that's a known issue with those chipsets, and the SSD is using one of them, change them to SATA/AHCI, there's a separate setting on the BIOS for that, usually for ports 5/6.
