I am rebuilding my server. New everything except drives. But I am going from 11 drives (1 parity 10 data) down to 9 (1 parity 8 data).

Am I correct in assuming that the only way to do this is to move all the data off then run the New Config tool?

I do not have any data on the two drives I am removing.

Best have test new system stable, attach spare disk to verify. Or at lease execute uncorrect parity check before any writing or changing for array when attach to new system.

Correct, then parity needs to be re-synced.
