June 9, 20206 yr Hi, I'm having issues getting into the BIOS of my motherboard because there is nothing displayed on monitor. Unraid boots up with no issues and I can access my VMs thru the display without a problem. I only have this issue on the bootup. I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue so I'm stumped! Any help would be great, thanks. I can provide any info needed to help resolve this issue so just let me know what you need.
June 9, 20206 yr Normally this means that you have multiple video outputs, and the BIOS is sending video to a different port. You haven't given us any clues to go on, so that's just a guess.
June 9, 20206 yr Author Yes I do have multiple outputs! Sorry for not posting this. I have two gpu's and one on the motherboard. This problem originally happened right after I had set up my Windows VM to passthru my gpu.
June 9, 20206 yr To access your BIOS now you will need to plug a monitor into whichever output your motherboard chose to use as primary. Some motherboards will allow you to choose which card it uses, others are arbitrary. It's not under Unraid's control.
June 9, 20206 yr Author So I assumed that was the case originally but I've tried every port available. No video output at all! Only output I get is when I start my Windows VM. Edited June 9, 20206 yr by acurunner79 Forgot to add something

June 10, 20206 yr Author Ok so there are no updates for my BIOS... I'm stumped again! Is there a way to find out which GPU my MoBo is set to when I can't access my BIOS? Here's what I'm running: ASRock X570M Pro4 AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Asus GTX 1060 3GB PNY GeForce GT 730
June 10, 20206 yr Well, as in all IT troubleshooting, you need to break down the problem, eliminate variables and start with the smallest testable configuration. A few things you can try; 1. Remove all GPUs leaving only onboard video, then boot with display attached there. You need to get into your bios and this will help you determine if your MB video is working etc. 2. Then add a single GPU and try that. 3. Reset your MB bios to return it to default settings. Good luck!
June 10, 20206 yr Author Ok so I removed the PNY GeForce GT 730 and was able to get into BIOS! Unfortunately, now my VM won't passthru the main GPU I have set. It starts but no display. I went thru the settings and can't see anything wrong and I'm not getting any errors.
June 11, 20206 yr Author It was running with the GTX 1060... The GT 730 was for my MacOS VM which I haven't gotten to work yet. I looked at my grouping and everything seems fine there. Edited June 11, 20206 yr by acurunner79
June 11, 20206 yr My next step would be to install virtual manager docker and add a vnc vga display device. Boot the vm and watch the virt manager display to see what’s happening with your vm. It’s possible that it’s going into recovery mode before gpu initialisation, or some such.
