[DISK ISSUE] HDD Not Regognized in 2 HotSwap Row

Featured Replies

Hi Community

I cant add a new HDD to my Array.

I use a Hotswap Case 16 Bay with two backplanes (at the moment I just want to use the upper backplane). The Raid Controller I use is the Fujitsu D2607 in IT-Mode. I use both SFF-Ports of the Raid Controller to the first backplane (2x4) but only the upper row got regognized.

I cant add it to the array and in Tools -> System_Devices it doesnt pop up.

It's a WD 8 TB EZAZ- 11TA... not TBA. First i thought it is because of 3.3V. Than i covered the 3 Pin but the drives spins up fine even without taping it.

Than put it in the first row and it got regognized with and without 3.3V

So why cant I see drives in the second row of the backplane? The SFF8087 Cables are both fine. The drives got power from an 350W PSU with 3 Molex cable from the PSU.  (one is an SATA to Molex adapter).

Someone got an idea?

Have you swapped the ports on the HBA? That model is known to only have a working port when incorrectly flashed to IT mode.

How do i check if it s incorrectly flashed?

  • Community Expert

By swapping the cables on the HBA, if the problem follows the port it's not correctly flashed.
