FORMAT new drive issue/bug

Featured Replies

Not really an issue i guess but a bug, installed a cleared drive i was using in a windows box (so NTFS) but before i did that i installed the NTFS-3G driver cause i will be copying over another ntfs drive to the new formatted drive but anyways

Im guessing since unRAID can detect NTFS in drive settings theres no format button for me to get this drive working in unRAID (protected, reiserFS, etc) without having to go into shell any chance adding a ADVANCE button with a FORCE FORMAT feature in the webUI ??

After you assign a drive to the protected array and subsequently "Start" the array, a "Format" button will be displayed if there are any disks that cannot be mounted as a reiserfs file system.

You should never format a reiserfs drive before adding it to the array.  (Doing it afterwords will maintain parity protection, doing it before will only cause the server to see it is not cleared and clear it itself.)
