Based on how I am reading this it only supports up to 8 SATA devices shared between the PCIE lane and the onboard SATA ports. Am I reading this right? 1 PCI-E 3.0 up to x4 (in x4 slot) *Number of PCI-E lane is configurable via BIOS setup: 0, 2, or 4. Total combined PCI-E lanes and SATA ports is up to 8. Question: If I add the x4 lane PCIE SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 Raid card or any other x4 lane PCIE HBA/RAID Card , 1 will it work and 2. will I get 8 extra hard drives on top of the 8 supported by the motherboard? Yes, but you should avoid the SASLP as it has various known issues with Unraid. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB Posted June 12, 2020 Share Posted June 12, 2020 I would really avoid the SASLP, do you really need 8 extra ports? If 4 or 5 are enough there are other options, you could also use a 4 port LSI with an expander. Quote Link to comment
