HELP! Broke unraid USB and have no USB backup

Featured Replies

So i wake up to notice my USB for unraid broken and unfortunately i dont have a backup. Is there any way i can still use my existing drives for the array without wiping them? i already made new bootable unraid disk and got new reg key but it wont let me start array without wiping all data on drives. Thanx in advance!!

I have a diagnostics folder with disk assignments in it from a year ago (disks havent been change in at least a year).

There seems to be some misunderstanding. Why do you think this?

Do you have a screenshot that illustrates why you think it wants to wipe everything?

It is just telling you that it is going to rebuild parity. There is a checkbox when you start the array that will let you tell it parity is already valid. In any case, it will not change any of your data disks.

Awesome! so should i check "parity already valid" if i know it was valid last night?

Yes. If you are absolutely sure you have the correct disk assignments. If not sure don't assign a parity disk.

Just in case, if it offers to format anything, DON'T.

Just saw your edit with the disk smart. It doesn't look like you have assigned your disks correctly. I only looked at parity since that is most critical.

so i ultimately got the correct parity drive and started the array with no issues and all of my dockers and shares are back but i cant open my dockers on dashboard (they are running in background because my plex is working). any ideas?

Since you lost flash you don't have any docker templates to allow you to work with the dockers from the webUI. You will have to reinstall them.

If you can restore your config folder from the flash backup you will get everything about your config back including the docker templates.
