Looking at upgrading my aging rig (running an i3-3300 atm) so I can take advantage of some VM's and also retire my old ESXI host

Currently looking at the below parts - after some input on how people feel this will perform - looking at the i9 rather than the new i7 due to lower TDP (this is also the reason for not getting the K or the KS models) but happy for someone to try and convince me otherwise here. My current rig is a Mid Tower, but now having moved house I have a rackmount available, unfortunately 600 deep, so I am restricted to the rackmount case sizing (the RM41-506 is the only one I have found to fit)

this is also the reason to look at the lower TDP as I am slightly concerned about airflow being less effective in the rack (wall mounted in a corner)

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900 3.1 GHz 8-Core Processor

Custom: SilverStone RM41-506 Black 4U Rackmount Case, No PSU
Custom: SilverStone 3x 5.25in Bay to 5x 3.5in SAS/SATA HDD Chassis Converter x2

obviously I will salvage some parts from my current box like sas cards and power supply too
