June 23, 20206 yr I have 4 SAS 4TB 7200K RPM drives all showing the same SATA errors. Please help me decipher? I did a pre-clear on all drives last night. Is there a way to clear all these errors? Just trying to figure out what's going on and the next steps. nas-unraid-bkp-diagnostics-20200623-1701.zip Edited June 26, 20206 yr by johnwhicker
June 24, 20206 yr Community Expert GUI SMART tests/results don't currently work for SAS devices, you can still run the tests manually and check the SMART report for the result, i.e.: SMART Self-test log Num Test Status segment LifeTime LBA_first_err [SK ASC ASQ] Description number (hours) # 1 Background short Completed - 23297 - [- - -] This was completed successfully without errors, though for a full drive test you want to run the long test (or do a parity check which basically accomplishes the same for all drives at the same time).

And I just did a full preclear on all drives, the 5 steps plugging preclear and was all successful. That means my drives are good to go and reliable for now?

June 25, 20206 yr Author Thank you much Sir. I am very impressed with the simplicity and clean interface and OS to be honest. I have one Unraid box running rock solid and stress testing my second one. Looks like I am able to move away from my Mac mini Servers to this new platform. Not too bad at all. I wish I could get a break on the second license price But hey you can't have it all
