Can I set up a dedicated server on my Unraid system for 7 Days To Die?

Featured Replies

Apologies right off the bat if this is a stupid question but a couple of mates and I have started playing 7 Days To Die and while it's working just fine being hosted by one of us, being hosted by a client obviously means the others can only play when the host is online.

I was wondering how easy it would be to host the game on my Unraid server so all 3 of us could dip in and out as we wanted?

+1 for this.  I'm new to setting up servers for games.  I imagine the ich777 one on Community Apps is probably straight forward.  Please post your progress with this.

WIthout really digging into the specific game, I'd think:

spin up a WIndows VM

install game.

start game and "host" whatever you need to on that VM.

everyone else connect to the hosted game.

?? ?? ??

profit!

Why a vm if you can run it in a container? ;)

does it have a container?

Yes, search in the CA App for 7 Days To Die or simply for 'ich777' then you will find a huge list of containers. :D

Well, there it is. :D
