I have a drive that’s been disabled and sitting with a red X. My understanding is Unraid has disabled the drive due to a write failure. I’d like to rebuild the drive to see if it’s still salvageable - wise thing to do? All of the material I’ve found about rebuilding talks about replacing the drive, nothing about rebuilding an existing drive. 

 

My thought is unassigned, restart the array, stop the array, then re-assign but would like to validate before doing so.

Once we have had a chance to examine you diagnostics to determine if the disk looks healthy and it you need to rebuild the drive then guidance on rebuilding drives is here in the online documentation.
