SFP+ setup problems

I'm trying to get my unraid server connected to my computer with a pair of mellanox x2 nics. I'm following a guide from spaceinvader but when I got to the network settings my eth1 slot was listed as not configured when his was fine.

I tried just configuring my eth1 anyway but it didn't work, and now my eth0 which was getting an IP from my router isn't getting any IP at all. I've tried changing settings back but I can't even get it back to the way it was.

Help or links to guides on how to fix would be greatly appreciated.

Ignore the not configured and follow the rest of the instructions, it looks like he a previously configured connection whereas yours is fresh, thus 'not configured'.

It looks like you skipped setting the IPv4 address assignment to static and therefore had also not set an IP.

Do this, then watch over this section of the video again and it should make sense this time.

After I got to that screen I did try assigning a static IP. It didn't work, and broke my nas primary network connection.

Check your mellanox nic in ethernet mode or not. or post diagnostics file.

Dual port NIC ? Pls try another port. Ensure the active port in Unraid be ETH1 ( Network config -> MAC order )
