Copy write speeds to array...

Featured Replies

I have an Intel Dual core E6750 2.66Ghz processor.

8 GB of RAM.

Intel DQ35MP mainboard with 6 SATA connections.

I have 5 WD 1TB Black drives.

I have 1 WD 1TB Black parity drive.

%100 1Gbit network

When writing to my array I can only get on average 30-38MB/sec tops. Isn't this kind of slow for what I have? I've heard people getting 50+ mb/sec (without cache drive) on average with their system. I'm always reading / writing to my array, so I just want it to be as fast as I can both ways.

Your performance is very normal.

I get about 38 MB/s. I don't think there is anything to worry about.

If you look at the last task of the Roadmap "driver rewrite", its says that Tom is working on a 50% write speed increase.

He is not working on it, he is theorizing it might be possible.  (if he ever gets snowed in for a week and has nothing else of higher priority)  See this thread for the theoretical discussion: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=9989.0
