Is this Marvell controller supported? A quick search here brings up some old topics about incompatibility. Not sure if those are still issues with the current unRaid release. For a while now, Marvell controllers have been problematic with unRAID/Linux kernel. The 9230 is mentioned often as having problems. Yes, they are still a problem with recent Linux kernels. They are especially problematic if you have virtualization enabled; however, even if you have no VMs, they can drop disks from unRAID arrays or not even show them in the first place. Some have had some luck getting them to work by applying some kernel parameters. The recommendation from most experts on the board is to avoid all Marvell controllers and go with something LSI/Broadcom based. Some Adaptec or ASMedia controllers also work well with unRAID. Since you are talking about a Marvell controller on the motherboard, your only option would be a PCIe controller or other MB SATA ports not controlled by a Marvell chip. 2 Quote Link to comment
