rjack Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Hello all. I have decided to upgrade to the i5 10400 and picked up an MSI Z490 Gaming Plus MOBO. I cannot get it to boot Unraid. I have tried Unraid 6.8.3 and 6.9.0 beta. I have tried to create a new flash drive, using both the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports. The board sees the USB device as: USB Key: UEFI: USB Disk 2.0 PMAP, Partition 1. It is currently plugged into a USB 2.0 port. Any thoughts on what my problem is? Thank you in advance. Quote
Squid Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Did you set up the flash drive as "EFI"? (Or simply rename the folder on the flash from EFI~ to be EFI) 1 Quote
rjack Posted July 3, 2020 Author Posted July 3, 2020 No. I am trying that now. Had no idea that hyphen could be an issue. Quote
rjack Posted July 3, 2020 Author Posted July 3, 2020 Thank you for the quick reply. That worked. I had no idea that could be an issue. Take care. Quote
Squid Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 The flash is set up to boot non EFI by default. IIRC there's a checkbox in the USB creator for that. 1 Quote

banono27 Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I have similar issue with my first install of unraid, but my motherboard is MSI H410M Pro. It was fixed by changing it to "EFI" Quote
