July 5, 20206 yr Community Expert Had first power failure than lasted longer than the UPS. Got email saying time has been reached (10 mins left) and beginning shutdown. When it all came back up, it was doing a parity check. I assume it did not manage to shutdown cleanly ? I cant see any special settings on the UPS. Any ideas where I can look ?
July 5, 20206 yr One possibility is that any Windows VM was preventing the VM from shutting down (ie: you haven't saved your work, it was doing updates etc). Always best practice to install the virtio-client in Windows and within VM settings have it hibernate VMs instead of shutting down.

Q. issue with that is i cannot access remotely the VM when it hibernates. How would you overcome that?

How are you doing remote access when it doesn't hibernate? Wireguard VPN is built in to Unraid and can be used to allow secure remote access of your Unraid server or anything on your LAN.
