6.9.0-beta24 - new user, unable to see Unassigned Drives

Featured Replies

Just got my first server delivered from eBay.

Specs:

Dell T620 - Motherboard: OMX4YF

H710 RAID Controller

4 x 2TB SAS drives

Dual CPU E5-2660 @ 2.2GHz

64 GB DDR3 Multi-bit ECC

I deleted the current virtual disk from the RAID Controller and Started the drives in the BIOS

I've rebooted but still do not see the unassigned drives. I've even installed the Unassigned Drives plugin.

Under Tools > System Devices the only thing under SCSI Devices is the boot USB and the DVD drive

Where do I start? My goal is to get a Plex docker spun up and see how load the server is while transcoding.

Do you see the drives in the BIOS (either mb or HBA?)

Post your diagnostics (tools - diagnostics)

I would guess that's because it is a RAID controller, not an HBA card.

From what I understant, unRAID does not work well with RAID controlers.

I don't know if this particular card can be flashed in IT mode. But I am sure some people here will be able to assist you on that. :)

Found the answer :/

H710 - CANNOT use disks in non-RAID - ALL disks must be configured in a RAID array in order to be presented to the OS.  If you need to use a non-redundant, single, individual drive, then it must be configured as a single-disk RAID 0.

Fixed it by doing as instructed :)
