January 9, 201115 yr I'm using an "original" server running 4.4.2. I use the machine mainly for archival purposes. Is there a relatively easy way to suspend and wake the server? I searched and found many articles. However, I'm not the most technical guy and I quickly got lost. Any advice?
January 9, 201115 yr Do you have unMENU installed? I use that to put it to s3 sleep and use a magic packet to wake it up Edit: Probably the wrong section for this thread. Better off under general support I think.
January 9, 201115 yr Author Do you have unMENU installed? I don't have unMENU installed. If installed, does it require a script to send the WOL packet?
January 10, 201115 yr No, you need to have WOL enabled on the card (in your BIOS normally if it's onboard NIC) I can't take credit for this but I can't find the thread that I got it from but here's what I use (I've attached the files to this post): I put the batch file on my desktop (so it's easy to find, you can put it anywhere) Put the other file i've zipped up in c:\program files\ - you can also put this anywhere you'll just need to edit the location in the batch file Edit the mac address in batch file so it matches the one in you unRAID system All you need to do then to wake the system is to run the batch file Edit: Found the wiki entry - http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Setup_Sleep_%28S3%29_and_Wake_on_Lan_%28WOL%29 wol.zip
January 17, 201115 yr Author Thanks Carpet3. I've haven't had a chance to try it yet. Will try and report back. Tom
