No video output on Windows VM - Nvidia GPU passthrough with vBIOS file

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am having a problem with a Windows VM that is not outputting video to the monitor.  The server has 1 GPU (Nvidia GTX 660) that I am passing through to the VM with a BIOS rom for the GPU.  I tried using one downloaded from techpowerup and also one that I dumped manually.  The VM does start properly and I'm able to log into it remotely over the network, but the monitor connected to the GPU does not display anything.

Some info/stuff I tried:

  • Unraid is running in legacy mode (not UEFI)
  • I tried switching between i440fx and Q35
  • Also tried SeaBIOS and OVMF

What are some things I can try to fix this?  Thank you in advance!
