Dell T620 12 bay Backplane question

I am looking to buy one of these for my T620 (eBay Link).  The full Dell T620 documentation shows details on the 12x backplane, how to install it, etc.  As far as I can tell it only has 2 SAS connectors, SAS A & SAS B.   I am lead to believe that this backplane must have SAS Expander built in?  I see that it has a heatsink on the board.   I currently have a LSI 9211-8i powering the current 8 drives, is this enough to connect all 12 drives on this 12 drive backplane or will it require a more robust card?
