(SOLVED) Parity Device Disabled

Featured Replies

I received a notification that my second parity drive was disabled. It also had a couple of hundred errors in the "Error" column. Parity check last night returned no problems. Finally had a chance to shut down the machine and check the cables. Everything appears fine with those. Restarted the server and the drive continues to show as disabled. I then ran a SMART test and downloaded a diagnostics report, which I have attached.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

The drive will continue to show as disabled until you take corrective action as discussed here.

Ok yeah, I thought we were heading in that direction...

I'm realizing I should have run the diagnostics prior to restarting everything. Any chance anyone can tell what happened to the drive based on the diagnostics and/or SMART test I attached?

Thank you!

Diags are after rebooting so we can't see what happened but SMART looks fine, most likely not a disk problem, you can replace/swap cables to rule them out in case it happens again.

That makes sense. Thanks everybody!
