AMD GPU no display on Windows 10 VM

Featured Replies

Having some issues trying to get a Windows 10 VM running with an AMD R9 380X GPU I had laying around from my days of dabbling in GPU crypto mining.  I have had the VM running stable with a GTX 1660 Super, but I want to use that card for Plex transcoding so I am trying to switch the VM to run with the AMD card.  On starting the VM, the GPU is passed through with no errors on the Unraid side, but the VM has no display output.  Tried using SeaBIOS and OVMF, as well as various versions of Q35 and i400fx but still no display output when the VM starts.  Even tried starting with a fresh VM creation but still no display output from the GPU, just a blank screen.  The card has been verified to work on a test bench, and I even tried using a different 380X but still the same result. Any thoughts?

Check out the link in my sig. you might find some tips there.

was the bios updated for mining optimization? If yes, you might need to roll it back, or pass through a bios rom file.
