(SOLVED) Shutdown, Auto Parity Check

Featured Replies

I was messing around with Plex and for some reason my server locked up and went offline. I had to do a hard shutdown. I brought the server back up and everything seemed fine except I noticed it is now doing a parity check. I did not start one, it just did it automatically. My scheduled parity is set for 8/1. Should I just let it run or should I stop it?

Not sure if related but about an hour before the shutdown I changed out the RAM in my server.. went from 8GB to 32GB with all sticks ECC unbuffered. I had 8GB ECC unbuffered before.

I am running version 6.8.3

Anytime you do a hard shut down the server should do a parity check on reboot...

And you should let it complete.

I am letting it run. So far so good. Looks like it will finish in the am.
