Copying Files Between 2 unRAID servers? (Add to Wiki)

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I've been browsing the wiki and I have not found anything that goes into details with the correct/easiest way to copy files from one unRAID server to another. I recently built a second unRAID server (running 5.0 beta).

New server where I would like to copy data

/192.168.1.100/disk2/audio

Location on old server

/192.168.1.75/disk7/audio

I also tried to use MC, but I could not figure it out... Thoughts? I know rsync could be useful, but I'm not sure if that is 'easy'

Thank you,

Easy. Just turn on SMB for disk shares and then you can map each share as you like. Then just copy files as you normally would.

Don't use linux commands.  Use the "Shares" web-management page to enable "Disk shares (SMB)" as export read/write.

He also need to run the mount command from the CLI. I don't know the syntax off-hand.
