July 22, 20205 yr When I try to go to \\Tower in the Network tab in windows explorer I get the following error. I followed this solution after reading this article. I switched the name too. I can connect to the tower with another PC just not my laptop. I currently am connected to the tower with a ftp connection.
July 23, 20205 yr I get that when trying to access the server from my laptop every...single...time. But if i wait and try again in about 10-15 seconds, it works. I have no idea why it has trouble connecting. I know this is going to sound silly but do you have Network Discovery (I believe that's what it's called) turned On under "Network" in File Explorer?
July 23, 20205 yr Have you tried connecting using the IP address instead of the server name? I would also recommend mapping the drive using the IP address as well.
July 23, 20205 yr For me //tower works in firefox but not in chrome. Try the ip address as stepmback suggests.
