PLEX 4k issue with LG television

Featured Replies

Hi Guys.

Another PLEX Transcoder problem to the board. Sorry for that :)

I have recently updated my Media server with new hardware (see below)

Trouble is, that I'm facing a lot of buffering issues on vi LG television.

Hardware:

MSI 450 Pro-max motherboard

Ryzen 3 3200G AMD

Adaptec raid card

12 hardrives of a mix of Ironwolfs, 6, 8 and 10tb's.

960GB SSD for catche

Nvidia 1650 Super 4gb DDR6 gpu

16bay 4U rackcase

Quick facts:

  • I have followed Spaceinvaders guide with great sucess on Youtube setting up PLEX and unRaid
  • Streaming to my Laptop with 4K monitor works flawless, in all formats (2160 down to 720p)
  • Streaming to my Samsung 55" TV works without issues 4K.
  • I have evidence that it is successfully using Hardware transcoding on the GPU.
  • All network is on 10/100/1000mbit
  • It is not the server running out of power for transcoding.

What can I do for troubleshooting? Any suggestions.

The LG tv is an LG 65UH615V.

It both have the issue when playing from the TV Plex application, and casting from ChromeCast Ultra.

Quick note is, that I watched the first 10min of an 4K movie without issues, and now all movies is buffering every 5second.

This is driving me nuts!! :)
