Unable to access WebUI

Featured Replies

Hi There,

I have been unable to access my UnRaid WebUI with root/password, I can access it via SSH fine but the WebUI just loops back to login on correct password and errors or wrong one. I tried resetting the password files which allowed me to access the WebUI without login but the error returns as soon as I set the password again. For the mean time I'll keep my WebUI without a password but unsure of the root issue.

Any suggestions? Happy to provide more info.

Are you setting the password in the GUI under settings, users?

Hi There,

Yes, after I lost access to the WebUI I deleted the oasswd smbpasswd and shadow in the config folder. I set the password in the unlocked WebUI after reboot but it returned me back to the login loop. It will tell me my password is wrong if I try the wrong one but it just loops when I get the password right with no error.

I just tried to set the password via ssh with passwd which worked when I reconnected to SSH but didn't stick after reboot or secure the WebUI.

Just wanted to add a conclusion to this issue, I believe it was due to previously having ssl enabled. I have managed to set my root password via the webui and disabled SSL as its not externally accessible.
