Parity drive upgrade

Recommended Posts

Hello friends,

I'm a happy Unraid user, but i have 2 hdds with problems.

Parity, disk 1 and 2 is 4tb, and disk 3 and 4 3tb.

I want replace parity with 8tb.

How can i proceed?

Stop array, remove parity hdd, start array, stop array, assign new 8Tb (precleaned) and start array?

I see this procedure ( https://wiki.unraid.net/The_parity_swap_procedure ), but i don't want parity hdd in array!

Disk 4 replaced is after parity drive!

Thanks for help.

CRC errors are not disk errors, they are connection problems. According to your syslog you may also be having connection problems with cache.

Check all connections, SATA and power, both ends, including splitters.

CRC errors won't reset, but you can acknowledge them on the Dashboard by clicking on the warning, and it will not warn again unless they increase.

Also, your appdata has files on the array.

Thanks for the reply.

I know crc errors its connections, but they appear after energy goes down few times.

I can RMA both HDD without problems, and replace them.

Appdata i have configured Prefer, should swap to Only in cache?

Replacing disks won't help. Get an UPS.

Leave as Prefer. Disable Dockers in Settings then run Mover

I'll move unraid server to another location and will buy an UPS.

Will run mover asap.

And my first question, how to proceed to swap parity hdd?

Stop array, remove parity hdd, start array, stop array, assign new 8Tb (precleaned) and start array?
