2 Disks missing

What should I do to recover Disk #3? Disk #4 has no data

Since you only have single parity, you can only recover 1 missing disk. You have 2 missing disks. Doesn't matter whether or not there is data on any of them.

 

How did you get to a place where you have 2 missing disks?

Last thing I did is to Gather a folder (out of the Disk4 to Disk3) with unBalance plugin. Then I cleared the stats and boom! 1st the Disk4 had the red X the same for Disk3 a few seconds later.

Looks like disk4 is the one that is disabled and needs to be rebuilt. But neither disk is showing in SMART. Do you have any reason to think they are both dead?

 

Check all connections, SATA and power, both ends, including splitters.

 

Then post new diagnostics.

when I pushed on the disk power cable, I heard the drive spinning up. Now its up and greed

so, I just have to remove Disk4, Start the array then shut it down and put back the Disk4, right?

Do you actually want disk4? Sounds like you might have been working towards removing it.

I do. its just that Disk3 had a few gigs left. Once full then Disk4 will be in service

Unassign disk4

Start array with disk4 unassigned

Stop array

Reassign disk4

Start array to begin disk4 rebuild

Looks like falty cables. I changed both
