No CPU Temp on Dashboard

Featured Replies

Just replaced all the hardware in my server. Ryzen 3600 with x570 motherboard and 32GB RAM.

The previous hardware was an older x79 mobo with 4820K. With the same plugins, etc. installed, I could see the CPU temp on the Dashboard screen. I don't see that anymore, just an infinity symbol.

I see a couple errors on the boot up screen just before the login prompt.

modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'coretemp' : no such device
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'nct6775' : no such device

I'm a novice when it comes to linux/unRAID, but I do know Coretemp is software that monitors/displays CPU temps in Windows. :-D

Any idea why that would be failing on this new hardware?

Thanks!

I checked the Dynamic System Temp plugin settings. It originally said 'coretemp nct6775' for Available drivers. I clicked detect and it changed to 'k10temp nct6775'.

Under sensors, everything says 'Not used' as gives no other options.

@Mattaton Unraid 6.9 will be able to read the sensor data from your CPU. Sensor data from Ryzen gen 3 and Threadripper TX40 are currently not fully supported in 6.8.3.

Well, that'd do it! Thanks!

Seems it is still bugy in 6.12. right?

I believe so... I just barely got a AMD Ryzen 7 5800x today and it gave me that same error. I was using an old i5-3570k and the temps were showing.

AMD 7900X unable to view temps in 2025, so much for a unraid 6.9 issue. im running RC2 7.0

Same here. In System Dynamix hitting "Detect" returns nothing....but running "sensors" from the console gives me this:

So it does have k10, and it definitely can return data....but other than that nothing....

Also running 7 RC2, prior to that 6.12x - neither worked. 😞

9950x has no temperatures or data from the sensors either. System dynamic returns nothing but the sensors command shows everything
