USB installer not seeing USB

Featured Replies

Trying USB installer on 4 different computers

Windows 10

Windows 10

Windows 7

Server 2019

Tried 68 different USB sticks, between 4 GB to 64GB, most NEW.

Not once will the UnRAID USB installer see any USB stick, NOT ONE STICK.

So, I try manual install. The BATCH file to make bootable fails on MBR, on over 50 different USB sticks.

I have spent WAY more than 15 min trying to do a 15 min job....

What must one do to get install on USB?

WOW, you are persistent.

Did you try to run the USB installer and the Batch file as 'Administrator'?  If you 'right-click' on the file name or icon, there will be an option to 'Run as Administrator' option.  (BTW, 32GB is the Max size for Unraid boot drives...)

More to the point is that the flash HAS to be formatted as FAT32 with a volume name of UNRAID.  exFat will not work.  And, while I can't remember 100% I seem to recall that Windows Defender might also interfere with the creation of the stick.

Thanks, I finally got it to work. I had a bunch of customer computer in shop. I just used one at a time till installer worked.  I may have downloaded it fresh too.

I'm gonna guess its not a common problem.
