SOLVED: VM Does Not Detect Keyboard Unless I Add a Second Keyboard

Featured Replies

Hi,
I've recently purchased Unraid and set up a couple of VMs, almost everything is working well except I have a peculiar keyboard issue. Here is what's happening:

Win 10 VM 1

Either of my two keyboards will work, no issues.

Win 10 VM 2

If I assign a single keyboard, it does not work. Windows does not detect a keyboard at all (I've tried changing ports, switching keyboards). However - and here is where it gets weird - if I assign both keyboards to this VM one of them will now work.

That's not much use to me as I need a single keyboard per VM. Any ideas why it would behave in such a way? I'm using version 6.8.3.

Thanks.

Edit: Sorry, after a lot of trial and error I was able to get it to work correctly. I had to change the USB controller from nec to qemu, alter the "Machine" setting among other things. I'm not sure what exactly was the root of the problem, but I'm happy it's working correctly.
