January 14, 201115 yr I know there are a few alternatives to the 590, but I'm one of those people that gets really picky and I'd really like to get my hands on a 590. Has anyone been able to locate them? NewEgg is out and eBay is dry.. Amazon lists one available for 600 something dollars. I don't like it that much.. I had convinced myself that I would accept a Xigmatec utgard as a substitute because it was plain looking like the 590, but those seem to have dried up as well. Any help tracking one down would be appreciated!
January 14, 201115 yr Sadly I haven't seen any in awhile, I've started considering the AZZA Helios 910 case as an alternative for the system I'm building for my brother. http://www.amazon.com/AZZA-Helios-CSAZ-910-Mid-Tower-Black/dp/B002RS4HVQ/ref=pd_ybh_5?pf_rd_p=280800601&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_t=1501&pf_rd_i=ybh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=05T8Q57B70KGKHFNJA00
January 14, 201115 yr Unfortunately the 590's are not produced anymore. As another alternative, the Xclio Nighthawk's look great too if there available where you are located. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/xclio-nighthawk-extreme-mid-tower-case-black-10-front-bays-18cm-side-fan http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15685&Itemid=1&limit=1&limitstart=2
January 14, 201115 yr There's a great sale on the Thermaltake V6 going on right now. Definitely a far cry from the clean looks of the CM 590, but it is still just as functional. It also sports a HDD dock on the top, which I think is pretty cool (would be great for preclearing drives, off site backups, etc). Mine just arrived yesterday, so I haven't had time to do any full testing on it yet. I'm unsure if all 9 5.25" bays can be used along side the HDD dock, or if one has to be sacrificed. I'll post a full review of the case when I have time to play with it more.
January 15, 201115 yr That is strange. I just had my 590 delivered last week from New Egg. Could have been the last one. I like my drive cages, but the 590 has those tabs sticking out so if I don't keep the case I'll post it up here. I guess a small hammer is all I'll need.
January 16, 201115 yr C Clamps are easier. C Clamps? I probably have some in the garage but didn't think they would work. I was thinking of Dremel but I forgot mine is not working right now.
January 19, 201115 yr Very nice. I lurked in my garage and didn't find any c-clamps but did find a small type jewel hammer and got them all down. My cage slides right in now. I have another cage on order and I'll need to order one more to fill it up. Once I get it up and running on the new machine it will be just a matter of plugging in a hard drive! No more opening up the case to replace/swap hard drives!!!
January 22, 201115 yr European shops still have them for example http://www.heise.de/preisvergleich/a317100.html
