August 16, 20205 yr So I’m setting up a new build for a home media server. I’m currently running Ubuntu with Docker on the machine, but, I’ve decided that Unraid would be much easier to manage. I created the boot USB but I’m having issues with the two NICs in the motherboard, and booting into GUI mode leaves me at a screen with a blinking underscore. The motherboard has a 1Gb Intel NIC and a 2.5Gb Realtek NIC. I’ve been able to use the Intel NIC without any problems in Ubuntu. However, Unraid does not seem to see that NIC at all. And if I try to use the 2.5Gb NIC, it gets a 169 IP meaning it’s not getting an IP from the DHCP on the router. I’ve tried disabling either NICs in the BIOS but haven’t seen any changes. Any help would be appreciated as I’ve hit a wall with this. I’m starting to think this might be caused by the boot USB or drivers. Motherboard: MSI Mag B460 Tomahawk USB: 32GB Kingston Datatraveler 100 G3 This is booting with UEFI. Diagnostic log is attached. mesa-diagnostics-20200816-1134.zip
August 16, 20205 yr I see that you are running 6.8.3, try using the latest beta 6.9b25, the kernel is much more recent and the drivers for this type of Realtek NIC have been added.
