[6.9.0-beta25] Audio passthrough trouble

Featured Replies

I'm trying to pass through audio built into the Motherboard to my Windows 10 VM, but can't find the right device to do so. NVIDIA audio is passed through, but my monitor doesn't have speakers.

I passed through
[1022:1487] 10:00.4 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Starship/Matisse HD Audio Controller

but Windows is only seeing the NVIDIA Audio Device.

Any tips?

Onboard AMD audio probably won't work so your best bet is probably to try fixing Nvidia audio. If Windows see the Nvidia Audio but no sound output then your issue is likely with your end device e.g. your monitor or connection. Try HDMI.

I'm not sure what changed, other than rebooting unRAID, but it all started working!

Thanks for replying

Reboot is the reason. The device can't be reset so a reboot resets it.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere about some FLR fix for Starship/Matisse devices in kernel 5.8+ but even Unraid 6.9.0-beta25 is only 5.7 IIRC.
