Switch from Unraid v5 to v6

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I'm an Uraid user since 2010 and have kept using v5 for years without any bother.

Have an array with a total of 14 TB, spread among 8 (9 with parity) disks.

I have now decided to migrate to v6.

I dont bother to transfer any settings from the v5, since I can easially setup the configuration as it was.

Will also keep the files on the ReiserFS disks intact.

Is it safe to just create a new v6 clean image on the stick, boot and then map up the disks exactly as it were in v5, without any issues or file loss?

Any issues with keep on using ReiserFS in v6?

Thanks, Peter

Thank you for your reply!

I do plan on converting to XFS later on, as soon as I get new drives.

But till then, I hope to just keep going.

What are the caveats on using ReiserFS, since you replied "not recommended"?

Thanks, Peter
