BlueRacoon
Hi all, I've gone through the process of installing Unraid to a USB drive and once I insert it into the server chassis it is booting into Unraid without issues. It stops at the login prompt with the tower name which I gave it (Junkbox). This is the default boot option and not GUI mode. Now I am able to connect to my server via the IP address (gives me the Supermicro IPMI web GUI), but I can't connect to the Unraid web GUI via the tower name (http://Junkbox). When I booted the server up it says IPv4 address: not set. I've attached the diagnostics file. Any help is appreciated. Thanks junkbox-diagnostics-20200830-1808.zip Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
Try using the latest beta by selecting the next branch in the installation tool. Quote Link to comment
BlueRacoon
Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried this and am encountering the same issue. I ran a new diagnostics file which I've attached. junkbox-diagnostics-20200830-2016.zip Quote Link to comment

Do you have another port for Unraid to use? 1 Quote Link to comment
trurl
Just now, trurl said: This suggests you are connecting to an ethernet port reserved for this purpose. Do you have another port for Unraid to use? And your diagnostics confirm that Unraid has no ethernet connection and no IP address. 1 Quote Link to comment
BlueRacoon
That was exactly the issue, thank you! I'm pretty new to this home lab thing and didn't realize the IPMI is dedicated in that manner. Now I can continue with my setup! I was able to login using the IP address which appeared before the login prompt. Edited August 30, 2020 by BlueRacoon Quote Link to comment
