August 31, 20205 yr My trial is running out of time and i'm going to buy a license. Now the big question which one. I have 4 storage drives and 1 cache drive. Still one left for parity drive for later. Now my big question: Quote What counts as a drive against my license storage device limit? Everything that is handled by Linux as a storage device (basically everything except for your boot flash drive). This includes DVD / Bluray drives, card readers, external hard drives and the like. Do i understand it correct? If i plug an usb hdd for filling it up with data or the other way around, this drive doesn't count as a drive for my license?

It doesn’t count if it is plugged in after the array has been started.

It DOES count if it is plugged in at the point where the array is started up at any time after booting Unraid. It does NOT count if it is plugged in while the array is already stated (i.e. it is a removable device that you remove while booting).
